Indoor pickleball in Vermont
When winter shuts down the outdoor courts, Vermont has indoor courts around Burlington and the Champlain Valley — essential through the long Green Mountain winter. Many clubs and rec centers offer indoor and covered play through the cold months — see our guide to indoor pickleball in New England, and use the map above to find courts near you.
Pickleball Clubs in Vermont
Vermont’s club scene is small and mostly clustered around Chittenden County and the southern resort towns — but what exists is genuinely good, and the indoor options matter a lot from November through April.
- Green Mountain Community Fitness — Barre. 6 regulation indoor courts with 32-foot ceilings; drop-in sessions and private bookings for members and non-members.
- The Pop VT — Essex, with a partner location in Shelburne. Indoor, memberships cover both sites, and non-members are welcome. Courts & hours →
- Southern Vermont Pickleball Club — West Dover. 8 outdoor courts running clinics, scrambles, tournaments and lessons. Courts & hours →
- Stowe Pickleball — a free, volunteer-run community club at Stowe Memorial Park with open play year-round.
- Brook Bound Inn Pickle & Padel Club — Wilmington. Outdoor pickleball and padel, bookable by the public.
Pickleball Leagues in Vermont
Vermont has fewer leagues than any other New England state, but the ones running are well organized and clearly documented.
- Game On Outdoor Leagues — Essex Junction (Cascade Park) and Williston (Rossignol Park). Summer Monday and Thursday leagues split into five DUPR bands, from Beginner (2.5–3.0) up to Advanced (3.75–4.0). The best-documented league in northern New England — divisions fill early.
- GMCF Pickleball League — Barre. Five-week level-based sessions across fall, winter and spring, organized by DUPR band. They also run several tournaments a year.
- Bolton Valley Winter League — Tuesday-night round robins through the winter, all skill levels, with weekly prizes. Come solo and they will match you with a partner.
