Quick answer: A pickleball paddle warranty covers manufacturing defects, not wear. Among 12 brands we checked on November 3, 2026, four offer lifetime coverage on at least some paddles, and most give 6 to 12 months. Many require registration, and nearly all require proof of purchase. Three exclude play below 40°F.
The 30-second version
- Lifetime is the exception. Four brands offer it on some paddles. Most give 6 to 12 months.
- Register fast. Several brands set 14- or 30-day windows.
- Worn grit isn’t a defect. Every policy excludes normal wear.
- Cold matters in New England. Six Zero, Paddletek and Honolulu exclude use below 40°F. Boston’s high stays under 40 on about 48 days a year.
- Used or resold paddles usually aren’t covered.
A paddle that cracks in month three is a warranty claim. One that loses its grit in month ten isn’t.

How long is a pickleball paddle warranty?
It depends on the brand and often the model. We read each brand’s own page on November 3, 2026. Terms change, so check the link before you buy.

What does a paddle warranty actually cover?
Defects in materials and workmanship. Selkirk’s Labs page is the most specific: handle breaks, a loose or cracking edge guard, face cracks and a loose end cap.
What’s excluded is more consistent across brands:
- Normal wear: grit and texture loss, grip wear, faded graphics and edge-guard scuffs.
- Impact: hitting anything but a pickleball. Engage, CRBN, RPM, Six Zero and Volair name this.
- Modifications: CRBN and RPM allow overgrips, edge tape and add-on weights. Six Zero excludes damage from clamp-on weights. Read this before adding lead tape.
If your grit is gone, that’s a replacement question, not a warranty one. Our guide on how often to replace a paddle covers it.
Does cold weather void a pickleball paddle warranty?
At three brands, by their own wording. Six Zero excludes “use of paddle in temperatures below 40F.” Paddletek and Honolulu use identical wording that also excludes use above 120°F, “e.g., in a car.” None says how it would judge that.
We ran NOAA daily records for 2016 to 2025 and counted days when the high never reached 40°F:
- Boston: about 48 days a year. Providence: 43. Hartford: 52.
- Worcester: 77. Concord: 77. Portland, Maine: 75. Burlington: 90.
If you play outdoors all winter, pick a policy without a cold clause, or move indoors. For cold play itself, see our cold-weather guide. For the hot-car side, see what heat does to a paddle.

How do you protect your pickleball paddle warranty?
Buy it new from an authorized seller, register it right away, and keep the receipt somewhere safe.
- Buy from the brand or an authorized dealer. JOOLA, CRBN and RPM name eBay and Facebook as not covered, and it helps you avoid counterfeits.
- Keep the receipt. Engage and Six Zero accept bank or card statements. JOOLA asks for the original receipt.
- Photograph defects honestly. 11SIX24 voids the warranty for AI-generated or doctored claim photos.

Frequently asked questions
Which pickleball paddle brands have a lifetime warranty?
Of the 12 brands we checked, Selkirk, Engage, Paddletek and RPM offer lifetime coverage against defects on some or all of their paddles.
Does a paddle warranty cover lost grit?
No. Every policy we read excludes normal wear and tear, and RPM names grit smoothing outright. Selkirk and Gearbox name texture breakdown.
Is a used pickleball paddle covered by warranty?
Usually not. Most brands cover only the original purchaser buying new from an authorized seller.
Can cold weather void a pickleball paddle warranty?
At some brands, yes. Six Zero, Paddletek and Honolulu exclude use below 40°F in their written policies. Paddletek and Honolulu also exclude use above 120°F.
How do I file a pickleball paddle warranty claim?
Use the brand’s warranty page, with proof of purchase and photos or video of the defect. Gearbox and JOOLA may ask you to ship the paddle back.
