About collegiate pickleball
Collegiate pickleball is the fastest-growing corner of the sport — hundreds of college programs competing through the National Collegiate Pickleball Association (NCPA), and it’s fast becoming the pipeline that feeds the PPA and MLP pro tours. The season runs September through April, with teams battling through Regionals for a shot at the National Championship.
Who can play: any enrolled college or university student (12 credits for undergrads, 6 for grads). Players can’t hold pro-tour contracts, but NIL deals, sponsorships, and endorsements are all allowed.

College pickleball FAQ
What is the NCPA? The National Collegiate Pickleball Association — the governing body for college pickleball in the U.S., running the regional-to-national season.
How do teams reach Nationals? By placing at a Regional. Each Regional hands out 12 bids, and your finish determines whether you land in the D1, D2, or D3 bracket at Nationals.
Do you have to be great to play? No. Team play spans divisions, and the individual brackets are open to 3.0–5.0+ players with no qualification required.
When is the college season? September through April.
