Where can you play pickleball in Springfield itself?
The city’s anchor is the Springfield JCC, which runs a large indoor pickleball program — on the order of eleven courts, with open play and leagues. It’s one of the biggest indoor rooms in Western Mass and the first place I’d send a Springfield player who wants a reliable year-round game. Smaller indoor options around the city include church and community gyms such as Trinity United Methodist and the Holy Name Social Center. Dedicated outdoor public courts inside Springfield proper are thinner, so for free outdoor play the neighboring towns are your friends — and they’re minutes away.
Where are the biggest clubs near Springfield?
- Pickleball Kingdom — Holyoke (~15 min). Fifteen indoor courts — the largest dedicated club in the Pioneer Valley, with open play, leagues, lessons and a franchise-standard setup. The obvious winter destination.

- Greenwood Center — Longmeadow (~10 min). Around seven indoor courts just south of the city.
