Which are the best pickleball clubs in New England in 2026?

Nine New England clubs made CourtSource’s 2026 Top 100 Pickleball Clubs, out of 100 clubs across 33 states. Here they are with the court counts CourtSource lists.

Rank Club Town Courts (indoor / outdoor)
9 Bosse Pickledom Natick, MA 21 (21 / 0)
18 Pickleball 603 East Hampstead, NH 12 (6 / 6)
41 Boston Pickle Club Norwell Norwell, MA 10 (10 / 0)
44 Willy’s Pickleball: Cape Cod Eastham, MA 16 (14 / 2)
46 The Shrewsbury Club Shrewsbury, MA 8 (8 / 0)
58 Ballers Seaport Boston, MA 8 (0 / 8)
59 Game On Fitchburg Fitchburg, MA 14 (8 / 6)
79 The Wicked Pickle South Portland, ME 8 (8 / 0)
98 Pickleball & More Dartmouth, MA 9 (9 / 0)

Together, the nine clubs list 106 courts, and 84 of them are indoors. That matters in a region where many town courts shut for winter.

How did CourtSource rank the clubs?

CourtSource ranked the clubs in two steps: a data score to build the candidate pool, then an editorial call on the final order. The list is dated August 2026.

  • The data: CourtSource says its directory holds more than 18,300 venues and 76,500 courts. It scores each venue with “CourtScore,” built on court count, indoor play and lights, access terms and verified amenities.
  • The cut: a club needed a verified court count, an indoor or outdoor tag and one more data point, and it had to be open.
  • The order: editors weighed coaching and leagues, food and drink, locker rooms and social space. CourtSource calls the final ranking “editorial rather than formulaic.”
  • Left out: gym-floor and portable-net setups, golf and country clubs, and general fitness clubs where pickleball is a side amenity.

Why did Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont get shut out?

CourtSource doesn’t explain state gaps, so this part is my read, not theirs. Its CourtScore rewards court count, indoor play and amenities, and it excludes gym-floor, portable-net and country-club setups. Big dedicated indoor clubs win under those rules.

That doesn’t mean those three states lack good places to play. See our Connecticut and Rhode Island guides for the clubs those states do have.

Is a top-ranked club worth the drive?

A top-ranked club is worth the drive if you want indoor courts, leagues and coaching in one building. It’s less useful if you just want a free game.

CourtSource tags every New England club on this list as commercial, drop-in fee or pay-to-play, so expect to pay. For cheaper winter play, see our Massachusetts and Maine indoor guides or the New Hampshire hub. Local detail on these clubs is in our Fitchburg, Cape Cod and Boston guides, and leagues are in our New England leagues guide.
