Quick answer: Pickleball in Warren, Rhode Island, comes down to three places: the town’s tennis/pickleball courts at Burr’s Hill Park (540 Water Street), the tennis courts at Jamiel Park (134 Market Street), and East Bay Pickleball, a private indoor club at 317 Market Street that’s open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Non-members can play open play at the club for $15 or rent a court for $50 an hour.

The 30-second version

  • Town outdoor courts: Burr’s Hill Park is the only Warren park the town’s booking system lists as “Tennis/Pickleball Courts.” Jamiel Park is listed as tennis only, though directories show pickleball lines there too.
  • Directories have the addresses wrong: they put Burr’s Hill at 775 Main St and Jamiel’s at Barrus St. The town lists 540 Water Street and 134 Market Street.
  • Indoor, year-round: East Bay Pickleball, 317 Market Street, open daily 7 a.m.–10 p.m., (401) 252-4021.
  • Drop-in price: $15 open play for non-members. Memberships start at $75 a month for seniors and include free open play.
  • Who to call: Warren Parks & Recreation, (401) 824-4623, at the Mary V. Quirk Community Center, 790 Main Street.

Where can you play pickleball in Warren, RI?

You can play pickleball in Warren at two town parks and one private indoor club. Here’s how they compare, using the town’s addresses rather than the directories’.

Venue Address (town/club) Setting Cost
Burr’s Hill Park 540 Water Street Outdoor, “Tennis/Pickleball Courts” No casual-play fee published
Jamiel Park 134 Market Street Outdoor, listed by the town as tennis courts No casual-play fee published
East Bay Pickleball 317 Market Street Indoor club, daily 7 a.m.–10 p.m. $15 open play / $50 per court hour (non-members)

What are the Burr’s Hill Park pickleball courts like?

Burr’s Hill Park sits at the south end of Water Street, and it’s the one town site where pickleball is official. The town’s booking system lists a facility area called “Tennis/Pickleball Courts” there, which you can request online.

  • Shared courts: the lines sit on the tennis courts. Pickleheads lists 2 pickleball courts with lines overlaid on a tennis court, so the net runs a little higher than a regulation pickleball net (36 inches at the posts, 34 in the middle).
  • Around the courts: the town lists basketball courts, a baseball field, a band shell, a picnic pavilion and restrooms at the park.
  • Cost: the town doesn’t publish a fee for casual play, and the directories list the courts as free. Call Parks & Rec to confirm before you book a group.

Can you play pickleball at Jamiel Park?

Probably, but the town doesn’t say so. Warren’s booking system lists Jamiel Park’s courts as “Tennis Courts” only. Pickleheads lists 2 pickleball courts there, again with lines on a tennis court and a tennis-height net.

Jamiel Park also has basketball courts, an inline skating rink, a playground, a softball field and restrooms, according to the town. It sits on Market Street, the same road as East Bay Pickleball, so the indoor club is close by if the outdoor courts are busy.

Why do the directories list different addresses?

National court directories list Burr’s Hill Park at 775 Main Street and Jamiel’s Park on Barrus Street. Warren’s own booking system lists 540 Water Street and 134 Market Street. If you type a directory address into your phone, you may end up at the wrong side of the park. Use the town’s addresses, which are the ones in our table.

The directories also show both parks as pickleball sites with the same 2-court setup. The town only labels Burr’s Hill that way. That’s a common pattern in our Rhode Island town guides: the directory listing is a lead, and the town’s own pages decide it.
